What is Environmental Chemistry?
Environmental Chemistry is the science investigating the distribution of chemical contaminants between air, water, soils and organisms. It also studies the transformations that such chemicals undergo in these compartments, and their eventual fate, including the resulting effects in organisms. Additionally, Environmental Chemistry determines the mechanisms and rates of chemical change for major environmental compartments.
