Resume, Cover Letter, and Transferable Skills
Thursday, September 27th
10am - 12pm
This 2 hour workshop will teach you how to build a resume and cover letter, while also exploring transferable skills. We will go over what these skills are and where they can be developed, as well as how to apply them when creating a resume and cover letter. This workshop should help you understand how to identify your skills and how to pull out the desired skills from a job posting.
Job Search and Professionalism
Tuesday October 16th
11:30am - 12:30pm
This 50 minute workshop will provide you with general information on job search strategies and an introduction on how to use Trent University’s student job board. Information related to the Federal Student Work Experience Program will also be provided. This workshop will also talk about professionalism and how it can affect your career success. 10 minutes will be provided at the end of the workshop for questions to be answered by the Career Strategist.
Interviewing and Professionalism
Thursday October 18th
10am - 12pm
This 2 hour workshop will provide you with information related to how to prepare for an interview, what to do during an interview, and what to do after an interview. Common interview questions will be explored, with the goal of increasing your confidence when it comes to your answers. This workshop will also talk about professionalism and how it can affect your career success.
Resume and Cover Letter
Tuesday November 6th
2pm - 3pm
This 50 minute workshop will provide information on how to build a strong resume and write a professional cover letter. Tips related to layout, content, and relevance will be provided, and samples will be shown. Information learned in this workshop can be applied to job applications for summer jobs, part-time jobs, internships, volunteer, or jobs following graduation. 10 minutes will be provided at the end of the workshop for questions to be answered by the Career Strategist.
