General Co-op Requirements
All of Trent's 20+ co-op streams require:
- Co-op students to be registered as full-time students
- All of the 8 academic terms and 3 works terms to be successfully completed in order to graduate from the co-op stream
- All work terms to be 4-month paid opportunities at 35 hours/week
Required Professional Development Course: COOP 2000H
In this online professional development course (a requirement for all Humanities & Social Sciences (including Business) co-op stream students), you will learn about the co-operative education process and responsibilities; career exploration, goal setting, and transferable skills; job search and networking skills; and how to prepare for success in the workplace.
Co-op Expectations: Here’s what you need to be successful

Grades: A minimum 75% average cumulative average through your study terms are required to complete Trent’s competitive co-op streams.

Work Term Reports: These reports provide an opportunity for you to reflect on your work terms and experience - integrating the unique insights and learning you gained through your work experiences, along with the academic knowledge that you acquired through your studies.

Work Performance Evaluation: Your work term supervisors will be asked to provide feedback on their performance and to provide an overall word grading.
Career Resources: eCampus Modules
To make sure you’re prepared and ready to hit the ground running in your work terms, Trent has developed Career and Workforce Readiness modules through funding from eCampus Ontario and the Government of Ontario.
These modules will give you an opportunity to practice, reflect and develop the strategies you’ll need to get started, refine your process, or put the finishing touches on a current project.
