Who can swim at the pool?
Athletics Centre members and Trent University students with a valid membership are able to swim in the Allan Marshall Pool during open swim and lane swim times or when registered for a specific pool program. Non-members may purchase a day pass to the Athletics Centre. More information on day pass rates is available here.
Please note that the following Admission Standards are in place when accessing the Allan Marshall Pool:
- Children 6 years and under: must be accompanied in the pool by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age and who is responsible for their direct supervision. The parent/guardian must remain within arms' reach of the child. Maximum two children per parent/guardian.
- Children ages 7 to 9: have the opportunity to demonstrate comfort in the water by attempting the Swim Test. Those who are not successful in completing the Swim Test must be accompanied in the pool by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age, and who remains within arms' reach. Maximum four children per parent/guardian. Those who are successful in completing the Swim Test may swim without being accompanied in the pool by a parent/guardian (parent/guardian must remain on the pool deck).
- Children ages 10 to 12: must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age and who remains on the pool deck.

Will the Athletics Centre be offering swimming lessons?
Yes! However, swimming lessons are not a part of the initial reopening plan.
When can I plan to register for swimming lessons?
The anticipated start date for swimming lessons to begin is May 2024. Registration is planned to open in early Spring. Communication regarding registration will be shared on our website, social media and in newsletters. To sign up for our Youth Newsletter please click here.
