To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests, the following age guidelines apply across the Athletics Centre facilities:
General Building Access
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied at all times by a parent/guardian who is 16 years or older while inside the Athletics Centre.
Fitness Centre
Individuals age 15 and older may use the Fitness Centre independently without a parent or guardian.
Youth ages 12 to 14 may use the Fitness Centre unsupervised only after completing the Teen Fitness Orientation. For details and to register for the orientation, please contact sport@trentu.ca.
Children and youth under the age of 12 are not permitted in the Fitness Centre at any time, including when accompanied by a parent or guardian, unless they are participating in an organized and approved program.
Pool Access
Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied in the pool by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age. The parent/guardian must remain within arms reach of the child. Maximum two children per parent/guardian.
Children ages 7 to 9 may attempt the Swim Test to demonstrate comfort in the water.
If unsuccessful, they must be accompanied in the pool by a parent/guardian (16+) who remains within arm's reach. Maximum four children per parent/guardian.
If successful, they may swim without a parent/guardian in the pool, but the parent/guardian must remain on the pool deck.
Children ages 10 to 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (16+) who remains on the pool deck.
