In this spring iteration of Tea & Teachings, facilitators will explore thoughtful and responsible ways to engage with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in educational spaces. Together, we will consider how to approach this important day with care, including strategies for supporting Indigenous students, fostering respectful dialogue, and creating trauma-informed learning environments. We will also be joined by a current Indigenous Bachelor of Education Program (IBEP) Teacher Candidate who has generously volunteered to share their perspective and experiences. The session will include elements of a sharing circle, along with guidance on using this approach in meaningful and appropriate ways when engaging with topics of truth, reconciliation, and ongoing colonial impacts.
