Posting Your Syllabus

After your syllabus has been approved, you will receive an email notification. Included in this email will be a link to your syllabus, which you may wish to make available to students via Blackboard or otherwise. Alternatively, you can find this link at the bottom of the editing page of your approved syllabus.

Accessing the Syllabus Direct URL

As most instructors make use of the Blackboard Learning System to communicate with their students, it makes a lot of sense to link your syllabus to your Blackboard course site as well. Here's how:

Left Hand Navigation

Click on the "+" Sign in your left hand navigation and select "Web Link":

Left-hand Menu options

You will then be prompted to enter a name for your syllabus, usually "Syllabus", and then enter the URL to your approved syllabus. Make sure to click "Available to Users".

Add web link menu

After you've created the link, click the dropdown menu on the far right of the link and select "Set Link to open in New Window":

Setting your link to open in a new window

Course Content

You can also create a link to your Syllabus in the Course Content section of your Blackboard site. To do so, select "Build Content" and select "Web Link" from the list.

Adding a link to the content area

Choose a name and copy the URL into the "Create a Link" screen. Under the Web Link Options section, make sure to select "Open in a New Window", and then click "Submit".
