Sustainability in Action

Sustainability at Trent University is a shared responsibility, integrated into our campus operations and community practices. From resource management to milestone celebrations, every department plays a role in advancing our collective commitment to a sustainable future.

The Sustainability in Action Spotlight Series highlights the efforts and innovations across the university. Each feature showcases key actions taken by departments to embed sustainability into their daily operations. These spotlights are intended as a way for us to recognize and celebrate the work that we do and to also offer inspiration for others to explore their unique opportunities to make an impact. In the spirit of shared learning, each feature offers actionable insights to help others identify how similar practices could potentially be applied in their work.

We hope you enjoy discovering how Food Services is sourcing and serving responsibly, Procurement is driving change through advancing policy, Environmental Services is recovering valuable resources, and how Convocation is incorporating green practices into our celebrations. Together, these stories demonstrate how every action, big or small, contributes to our shared goals of reducing carbon, achieving zero waste, and fostering a resilient campus community.

Is your department ready to collaborate or take the next step in advancing sustainability?

We’re here to help! Reach out if you’re interested in being featured in a future spotlight or would like to book a meeting with our Sustainability Coordinator, to consult on your sustainability opportunities. Let’s work together to grow our collective impact.
