Experiential and Independent Research Courses

Is this for me? Do you: work well independently, have strong communication and writing skills, take initiative, have good research skills, are you organized and highly motivated?

Upper year students interested in conducting research projects or exploring an area of study that is of particular interest can apply to complete an independent experiential course.  There are several different course offerings with different opportunities and requirements.  Experiential and independent courses allow students to bring together their knowledge and research skills at an advanced level, in preparation for further graduate studies or employment.

Through focusing on a specific area of knowledge, these courses help students to reflect upon, identify and enhance the skills that they have developed over the course of their degree in:

  • knowledge assessment
  • knowledge generation
  • knowledge synthesis
  • knowledge mobilization

Information about each of the experiential and independent course options is presented below.
