Accelerated Masters
Fast-track your education and earn an M.A. or M.Sc. in Anthropology only 16-20 months after graduating with your Honours B.A. or B.Sc.
Learn from faculty experts who cross disciplinary boundaries, including the Canada Research Chair in Environmental Archeology.
Trent's paid co-op is an opportunity for you to gain work-integrated experiential learning that will help you get a head start on your career. The Archaeology co-op assists graduating students in achieving a competitive edge while generating experience within a wide range of sectors.
Specifically, paid co-op gives you a chance to obtain 12 months of practical experience on the job, develop or enhance technical skills, explore career options, network with a variety of individuals and organizations, learn from mentors, enhance communication and presentation skills, and develop technical writing skills.
Traditionally there are three co-op work terms of paid employment, each four months long, 35 hours/week, giving students the opportunity to manage well-defined special projects at an organization. With the Archaeology co-op, students are encouraged to combine two work terms back-to-back creating an eight-month opportunity with one employer.
- Choose our co-op stream offered at the Peterborough campus and graduate with 12 months of paid work experience as you complete three full-time work terms throughout the four-year program, working in fields such as municipal arts and culture, community heritage, tourism, environmental planning, education, evaluation, and research
- Conduct your own independent research project studying regions such as the Arctic, Asia, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa
- Gain first-hand experience in specialized on-campus labs for bioarchaeology, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), archaeozoology, and lithic and ceramic analysis
