The Master of Management program offers three unique course-based streams. Each stream is 16-months in length, and is divided into four 4-month terms. Students take four courses in each of the first three terms, followed by a workplace internship in the fourth term:
Master of Management (M.Mgt.)
Developed to address the needs of today’s employers, Trent’s Master of Management (M.Mgt.) provides students with a grounding in a broad spectrum of business and management disciplines, including accounting, corporate finance, marketing, and strategic management. This course-based program is offered by the School of Business at both the Trent Durham and Peterborough campuses. Begin the program directly after university graduation, or with up to five years of post-graduation work experience.
Master of Management: Strategic Change Management (M.Mgt.SCM)
Our Strategic Change Management stream, only offered at our Durham campus, is the first of its kind in Canada, offering graduate students the opportunity to delve deeper into such areas of focus as negotiation and conflict resolution, crisis management, and decision making. The program prepares graduates for professional managerial careers in a rapidly evolving business environment, in which organizations must continually assess the need for strategic realignment, and develop and successfully implement effective and efficient strategies for change.
Master of Management: Health Care Management (M.Mgt.HLTH)
This exciting new stream within the Master of Management graduate degree is offered at the Trent Durham campus, and, starting in January 2026, will be offered at the Symons campus in Peterborough. The Health Care Management stream prepares graduates for professional managerial careers in the uniquely dynamic and complex health care sector, in which organizations must continually develop, implement, and assess strategies for delivering health care services in the face of critical resource constraints.
Experiential Learning
In addition to its academic components, Trent University’s Master of Management program provides experiential learning opportunities through which students gain real-world experience, refine their professional skills, explore the relationship between theory and practice, and have the opportunity to contribute their own innovative solutions to existing challenges.
Lead with confidence to thrive in today’s ever-changing business world. At Trent’s School of Business, the Master of Management offers three unique course-based streams to pave the way to careers in management. Build a strong foundation across core business disciplines through the Master of Management (M.Mgt.), specialize in navigating organizational transformation with Strategic Change Management (M.Mgt.SCM), or prepare to meet the challenges of a complex and high demand sector through Health Care Management (M.Mgt.HLTH). Whichever stream you choose, you’ll gain the advanced knowledge and global perspective needed to shape solutions, drive innovation, and succeed in management careers across industries and around the world.
