Trent Varsity Lacrosse Player Named All-Canadian All-Star
Joshua Bean named face-off specialist for All Canada East Division
The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) recently named its All-Canadian All-Star Team, selecting Trent player Joshua Bean as face-off specialist in the All Canada East Division.
Mr. Bean is a fourth-year History and Indigenous Studies student who has played a key role with the men’s lacrosse team since its inception in 2005. He was a member of the team when it moved to varsity competition in 2008.
“It is a great honour for me to receive this personal recognition as the faceoff specialist from the league,” said Mr. Bean, adding “However, there is certainly a supporting cast in my teammates that made this recognition achievable.”
The CUFLA All-Canadians are selected and voted upon by the coaches of the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association and is a collection of the best players in Canadian collegiate field lacrosse at their respective positions.
Reflecting on his varsity career at Trent, Mr. Bean says: “Varsity sports have allowed me to form close friendships with fellow students along with the camaraderie I have with my coaches and teammates and being able to play the sport that I love while attending school has certainly made my academic career more enjoyable. Trent has provided the lacrosse program and other athletic teams with a state-of-the-art facility to train, practice and play which goes a long way in fielding and developing top quality programs.”
