Nature Areas Stewardship Advisory Committee Terms of Reference

A standing sub-committee of the Facilities and Grounds Advisory Committee, reporting to the Facilities and Grounds Advisory Committee 

  • To provide advice on the management of the University Nature Areas to ensure their protection and appropriate use
  • To develop proposals to promote awareness and appropriate University and public use of the University Nature Areas
  • To seek advice from the Environmental Advisory Board on any matters having environmental implications
  • To bring to the attention of Senate through the Facilities and Grounds Advisory Committee any matters concerning the Nature Areas having educational policy implications

The Committee composition includes:

  • 3 faculty (at least two from Biology, Geography,Environmental Studies) - one to Chair* 
  • 3 students
  • 1 elected staff representative 
  • Vice President, Finance and Administration, ex-officio 
  • Associate Vice President, Physical Resources, or designate

*the Chair sits on the Facilities and Grounds Advisory Committee

Secretarial support for the Committee is provided by the office of the Vice President, Finance and Administration.
