Academic Integrity Guidelines For Chairs
For Chairs
Under the University’s Undergraduate Academic Integrity Policy, the Chair is the first-level decision-maker in cases where there is no prior offence on record. A lot of the information you need to know is covered in these FAQs but it is important to read the full text of the policy. Chairs should treat the decision-making process as confidentially as possible while recognizing that absolute confidentiality cannot be assured. Decisions should be made in a timely manner, usually within a few weeks.
Read the Steps for Handling Academic Integrity Cases.
For academic misconduct during an exam, see guidelines for invigilators.
Complete the Academic Dishonesty Chair Report (.docx) and submit to the student and the dean.
