Call for Nominations
Honorary Degrees 2027
Deadline: Monday, October 19, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
The University Honours Subcommittee is seeking nominations for honorary degrees to be given at Convocation in June 2027.
Honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.), Honorary Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) and Honorary Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degrees are awarded to individuals in recognition of their contributions to academic life or to society as a whole.
Nominations are accepted throughout the year and an on-going list is kept by the committee for future consideration. However, to be considered for 2027, nominations for honorary degrees must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Please see the Honorary Degree Recipients and Stephen Stohn Eminent Service Award Recipients page for a list of previous recipients of both honours. The deadline for Stephen Stohn Eminent Service Award nominations will be early February after a second call for nominations.
The Secretary of the University Honours Subcommittee will receive nominations in confidence at the contact information listed below. Please include biographical information, contact information for the nominee and a rationale detailing why Trent should honour the individual. Please be advised that, should a nomination be successful, the nominator(s) may be contacted by staff regarding public announcements (media and events).
