Mr. Scott Sinclair has worked in the financial services industry since 1986. His areas of expertise include life and health insurance, segregated and mutual funds, with additional exposure to pension and employee benefits in the US markets. Mr. Sinclair recently retired (December 2017) from the role of Senior Vice-President of Underwriting, Medical, Pension Administration and Risk Products at Transamerica Life of America. Prior to that appointment, he was COO at Transamerica Life Canada/AEGON Canada (2009-2014). Mr. Sinclair holds a B.A. (Honours) in Political Studies, from Trent University. From a volunteer perspective, Mr. Sinclair is a member of the newly amalgamated Strides Toronto Board(formerly East Metro Youth Services and Aisling Discoveries) and is the past president of the Aisling Discoveries Child and Family Centre board, as well as past president of the Aisling Foundation board. He is also a past board member of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada and the Fundserv segfund advisory group, and past president of Grace Communities Corporation – Flagcrest community housing. Mr. Sinclair has also been the major gifts leader for United Way at Transamerica, past chair of the YMCA Scarborough regional council, and a founding board member and advisor to the Day Trippers Children’s Charity. Mr. Sinclair’s second three-year appointment on the Trent University Board of Governors Page 7 began July 1, 2019 and he is continuing as Vice-Chair of the Board for the 2021-22 term.
