Rachael Nicholls, PhD, OCT

Assistant Professor

Dr. Rachael Nicholls, OCT, is a queer, Peterborough-based educator and researcher of Scottish & Irish ancestry. She is a proud Trent alumna (BA, BEd). A former public-school teacher, she holds a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Community Development and a PhD in Education Leadership and Policy from OISE/University of Toronto.

Current Research

education administration and leadership in rural school boards;
teacher identity development and field experience;
diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for queer and trans students;
post-secondary student organizing and activism.

She is an Assistant Professor and faculty advisor in the School of Education, Trent University. She is the Camp fYrefly Ontario Faculty Liaison.
