Initial consultations with administration and academic departments have been driven through a Trent Project Steering Committee and Trent Design Committee.
Consultation with the City of Peterborough and Land Resource Consultation Officers from Curve Lake, Hiawatha, and Alderville First Nations has and will continue to be undertaken throughout these developments, building on the extensive collaborative work completed through the Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan. At the request of First Nations, four season studies were undertaken when only three seasons are required by regulatory agencies.
Studies and reports include:
- Geotechnical Report
- Environmental Impact Study
- Environmental Site Assessment
- Archaeology Reports (Stage I and II)
- Tree Preservation and Protection Plan
- Storm Water Management Study / Report
- Traffic Impact Study
- Parking Justification & Site Selection Study
Engagement with Indigenous community has included early visits to the proposed location, a blessing of the land before any work was undertaken and trees removed, and input into design considerations to incorporate Indigenous culture and values.
