The Bachelor of Arts and Science - Naturopathy Double Degree program combines a three-year general degree from Trent University, Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASG), with a four-year Doctor of Naturopathy degree (or diploma - see below)* from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
The combined duration of both programs is 7 years.
Years 1 through 3 are spent at Trent University where students complete a Bachelor of Arts and Science General degree program.
Following successful admission, years 4 through 7 are completed at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where students complete the Doctor of Naturopathy program.
Admission Requirements - Trent University
Students apply to Trent University through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) and select the Bachelor of Arts and Science - Naturopathy Double Degree
Students must meet all specific admission and enrollment standards, and requirements for the program:
- Successful completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent);
- A minimum overall high-school average of 80%;
- Successful completion of Grade 12U English, Chemistry and Biology (or equivalent);
- Grade 12U/M Math (Calculus, Data Management or Advanced Functions) is recommended.
Students will be accepted subject to capacity, if applicable.
Admission Requirements - Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine
The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine will review applications for conditional acceptance from any Trent student who is in Year 2 of the Bachelor of Ars and Science General - Naturopathy Double Degree program with a 75% cumulative grade average (3.0 GPA overall).
Trent students shall apply directly through the NDCAS application system used by the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Students must meet all specific admission requirements (i.e. interview essay, references) and fulfill any conditions (e.g., GPA requirements, and prerequisite courses) for entry into the Doctor of Naturopathy Degree program.
Students may apply to the Toronto, Ontario campus of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine or the Boucher Campus* which is located in New Westminster, BC.
Due to the competitive nature of the double degree program, meeting the minimum grade requirements does not guarantee admission.
Full admissions requirements are outlined on the CCNM website - https://ccnm.edu/future-students/admissions/academic-requirements.
*Please note:
- The Boucher campus program falls under BC provincial regulations, therefore, students pursuing the four-year naturopathic program at the Boucher Campus earn a degree and a diploma rather than a double degree.
- Upon completion of the Doctor of Naturopathy degree program, students will need to meet registration requirements as set by provincial regulators (e.g., College of Naturopaths of Ontario) to practice as a Naturopathic Doctor.
