About Dean Hintelmann
Esteemed professor of Chemistry and Environmental & Resource Studies at Trent for over 20 years, Dr. Hintelmann has been Dean since 2012 (Acting Dean since 2010). He has served as the Director of the Environmental and Life Sciences Graduate Program, Chair of the Chemistry Department, and Associate Director of the Trent/Queen’s Graduate Program. Prior to coming to Trent as an NSERC Industry (INCO) Research Chair, he held research positions at the GKSS Research Centre in Germany, and Visiting Scientist positions in Ireland, France and Canada. Dean Hintelmann’s research centres on environmental chemistry (mercury cycling and accumulation), and he has published over 130 peer-reviewed articles, ten book chapters, and numerous reports and conference proceedings. Dean Hintelmann collaborates closely with Science faculty and students, as well as Dean Skinner (Humanities and Social Sciences) to bring exciting new programming and opportunities for students at Trent.
