COURSE DESCRIPTION Teaching Students with Communication Needs (Speech and Language) is an introductory course designed to help educators support students with diverse communication needs. This course explores speech and language milestones, the role of technology, apps, and AI in fostering communication, and practical strategies for creating positive learning experiences for students, including non-speaking children and those with autism. Participants will examine typical and atypical language development through the lens of accessibility and inclusivity, examining how these align with individual learner profiles. With a focus on Kindergarten and Primary/Junior levels, participants will gain actionable insights to plan responsive programs that support every student’s ability to communicate and learn. | PREREQUISITES (as required by OCT)
