Intermediate Science

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Intermediate Division Science will give teachers the qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division (grades 7 to 10). This qualification will give you a teachable subject in Science.

Participants will explore resources and strategies in teaching Science at the Intermediate level. While examining Ontario's Intermediate Science curriculum, course participants will examine how to get students excited and interested in Science; focusing on how students interact with the world of Science they live in.

PREREQUISITES

• OCT Member in Good Standing or OCT applicant if new Ontario BEd graduate (Read more)
   
• Your teacher education program coursework and practicum must be successfully completed before registration
   
• University undergraduate degree (in addition to BEd or teacher education program degree)
   

• 2 full year or 4 half year university courses in Science* with a minimum "C" grade or higher for each course (BEd courses cannot be included)

  *Science courses accepted are those that align with the Ontario Ministry Science curriculum, such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
