Getting Your Card

Students Beginning September 2025:

PETERBOROUGH:  

Students moving into Residence in September, will receive their TrentU Card when they move in.  Please submit a photo Here  All Residence students must submit a photo prior to moving in.  

Students who are not living in Residence will receive an email once their photo has been submitted and approved. Cards for September start students will be available for pickup stating the first week of September.  You must be registered in at least one course to receive your TrentU Card.  The Card Office is located in Blackburn Hall and is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

DURHAM GTA Campus: 

Students moving into Residence in September, will receive their TrentU Card when they move in.  Please submit a photo Here  All Residence students must submit a photo prior to moving in.   

Students who are not living in Residence will receive an email once their online photo submission has been submitted and approved. Cards for September start students will be available for pickup stating the first week of September. Please note it may take up to three business days after your photo has been approved to arrive at the Durham Campus for pickup.  You must be registered in at least one course to receive your TrentU Card. Please visit the Durham Campus Print & SRC (Room A146) to pick up your card.    

 

Bachelor of Education Students:

If you did your Undergraduate Degree at Trent, you do not get a new student card for your Bachelor of Ed. You will use your same TrentU card from your Undergraduate Degree. You can submit an updated photo that will be used for your Placement Badge.

To get your TrentU Card, you must submit a valid Government issued Photo ID with your TrentU Card Photo:

  • Driver's license (photo)
  • Certificate of Indian Status (photo)
  • Ontario BYID card (LCBO) (photo)
  • Passport (photo)
  • Federal government employee ID (photo)
  • Provincial government employee ID (photo)
  • Municipal government employee ID (photo)

Upload your photo ahead of time by submitting your portrait-style photo online here!

Guidelines for electronic pictures:

  • Your face must be clearly visible and facing forward.
  • Your photo must show a clear image of your portrait including face and head.
  • We cannot accept photos with hats (unless worn for religious purposes) or sunglasses.
  • Students are encouraged to smile in their photos.

Special Circumstances: Women wearing a veil that partially covers their face can make arrangements for a photo without their veil to be taken in private by a female or appropriate staff person.  That photo will be saved and only accessed by the female or appropriate staff member. This photo will only be used if the appropriate Trent departments need to verify your identity for reasons such as exams or security. A photo with the veil will be printed onto your Student Card. Please contact the TrentU Card Office at 705-748-1011 X 7431 or the Durham Administration Office at 905-435-5100 to make the necessary arrangements.
