Research Interests:
My research largely focuses on social cognitive models of the self, self-regulation, and change as they relate to depression and mental health. I am broadly interested in the development of alternative models and methodologies for the study of the self, with a special interest in subjective models integrating scientific and spiritual approaches to the self. I am also interested in the links between culture, gender, and identity. I have previously examined a range of social, personality, and health psychology topics, applying a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods in academic and applied research contexts. My approach to research and teaching draws on critical and theoretical psychology perspectives, exploring how reflexivity can be applied to the discipline, and to my own work. Currently I am interested in developing community-based collaborative projects that apply innovative methodologies and an evidence-based approach to social issues.
