Computer Science & Physics

  • Read more about Computer Science & Physics

Take your physics and math interests to the next level, applying it to relevant technologies to become an informed, job-ready candidate in today's fast-paced digital world.

Through advanced courses in quantum physics and mechanics, you will discover the fundamentals of different computational systems and examine electricity and magnetism.

Small-group classes led by leading researchers and faculty who specialize across scientific disciplines provide a supportive and productive environment for you to explore complex challenges and make dynamic new discoveries in the field.

Mathematical Physics

  • Read more about Mathematical Physics

In this joint degree program, you will discover what makes our world go round by studying core theoretical physics frameworks and the mathematical methods that form their foundations.

In Mathematical Physics at Trent, you will gain the skills and knowledge to understand the underpinnings of physical phenomena – from the cosmos, to climate, to computing. In small, hands-on classes, you’ll practise tackling problems in subjects like quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, mathematical modelling and more.

Joint Majors

  • Read more about Joint Majors

Graduate with a unique set of expertise through Trent’s joint major degree pathway.

Joint major students at Trent describe the experience as the best of both worlds as you are able to take courses across the arts, sciences, and our professional programs.

Want to see more representation in our governments? Pair a Political Studies degree with Gender & Social Justice.

Want to immerse yourself in today’s technology? Couple Media Studies with Computer Systems.

Computing Systems

  • Read more about Computing Systems

A B.A. in Computing Systems focuses on the business application of various technologies.

In this program, you’ll have the chance to develop practical skills in designing, implementing, and integrating software applications. Learn the fundamentals of programming languages, data structures, and algorithms, applying what you know to build apps, enhance security, and design games.

Data Science (B.Sc.)

  • Read more about Data Science (B.Sc.)

Learn to transform data into meaningful insights for various industries in this interdisciplinary degree program.

As a Data Science student at Trent, you will acquire knowledge in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, and learn to apply those analytical skills in extracting intelligence from big data sets, working in numerous fields from Business to Media Studies to Sociology.

Applied Artificial Intelligence

  • Read more about Applied Artificial Intelligence

In this professional postgraduate certificate program, you will explore interdisciplinary topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), including the fundamental concepts of AI, basic computer programming, algorithms of machine learning, statistics, information systems, and the history, ethics, social, and political implications of AI.

Through this program – completed following your undergraduate degree – you will gain a deeper understanding of AI and ways to implement this cutting-edge technology in your professional career, and beyond.

Applied Modelling & Quantitative Methods M.A. or M.Sc.

  • Read more about Applied Modelling & Quantitative Methods M.A. or M.Sc.

Thesis Stream (Offers Fall, Winter and Spring intakes)

This interdisciplinary thesis-based option offers fresh perspectives for students pursuing an M.A. or M.Sc., bringing together scholars from across economics, computer science, math, and psychology to exchange ideas and share knowledge.
