Opportunities for Graduate Studies

Information for Prospective Graduate Students

Pursuing graduate study in Trent’s Department of Physics and Astronomy allows you to work in small groups in close contact with a dynamic research supervisor, study in an interdisciplinary environment with students from other academic fields and other universities, make a smooth transition from course work to research, and live in the midst of the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region while remaining only 1.5 hours from Toronto.

Our graduates are highly respected in science and industry because of the quality, breadth and flexibility of their graduate education.

Research assistantship stipends and teaching assistantships are available.

Trent is recognized as one of the best funded universities for NSERC grants in the Primarily Undergraduate category, according to the Maclean's survey of Canadian Universities.
