Trent Grad from Your Pad 2020

While we greatly anticipate the days when we can welcome all of the 2020 Trent University graduates back for live convocation ceremonies in May/June 2021, we are delighted to share that we are planning a uniquely Trent virtual celebration to honour the momentous milestone of completing your Trent education.

Introducing….Trent Grad from Your Pad! Please save the date and plan to join, from your home, on Saturday, June 13th, at 11 a.m. EDT. This is an unprecedented time in history and we plan to mark your graduation in a positive and memorable way.

Watch for your official e-invitation to arrive in the coming days with full details that you can share with your friends and families.

In the meantime, we need your help for a special component of the grad celebration - the Virtual Stage Walk.

Even though you won’t be on the official convocation stage this June, you can still walk across the stage for your friends and families. We are inviting every graduate to submit a 2-5 second video. Here’s how:

1. RECORD YOUR STAGE WALK: Using your phone (or any camera that can record video), film yourself walking from left to right across the frame.

• Make sure your whole body can be seen, with room to make your way across. We recommend approximately 5 to 8 feet distance from your phone

• Begin your walk from out of frame, and keep moving until you are fully off-screen

• Videos should be between 2 to 5 seconds maximum

• Have fun! Get creative with your walk, outfit (Trent gear, College scarves, traditional dress), background, props, and anything else you can think of. Remember to wave to the audience! Keep in mind: The videos will play without audio

• Please keep your submission tasteful. Any videos featuring profanity or other content deemed offensive will not be accepted.

2. SUBMIT THE VIDEO: Once you have recorded your video, submit it to this Google Form Video Submission Page, or check your Trent Email for the link!

And that's it! Please submit your brief video clip no later than Sunday, May 31st in order to be included in the virtual stage walk portion of the Trent Grad from Your Pad event. If you have any questions, please email convocation@trentu.ca.
