New Dell Computer Purchases During ‘Work From Home’
Tech Bulletin - Staff & Faculty
Dear Faculty and Staff,
To facilitate the purchase of new Dell desktop/laptop computers during 'work from home', Trent IT has worked closely with Dell to implement interim changes applicable to all standard models purchased via the University's Dell Premier purchasing portal (access instructions are below). Additional accessories have also been added to the portal, including: network cables, USB headset and USB webcam.
These changes enable standard Dell desktop/laptop models to be purchased, setup and supported more effectively while working remotely. When standard devices return to campus, they will be reconfigured to function with all standard services for continued use by a staff/faculty member and/or redeployed by departments as required.
Please note the following:
- Purchases should continue to be completed via the University’s Dell Premier purchasing portal per the standard Purchasing process outlined here:

- Orders will be received by the Shipping & Receiving Centre (SRC) located on the Symons campus and addressed as follows:
Trent University
2089 East Bank Drive

Trent’s Shipping and Receiving Centre will notify the individual to whom packages are addressed and coordinate off-site re-delivery.
