Join Kate Hodge, GIS and Data Support Specialist, for an introduction to ArcGIS Online and interactive web mapping. Building on the data collected in the previous workshop, participants will learn how to visualize, manage, and share spatial information through interactive web maps.

Participants will work with the field-collected dataset to create an interactive map while learning key concepts in web mapping and data management. Along the way, they will configure map symbology and pop-ups, incorporate photographs and supporting information, and explore additional datasets available through ArcGIS Online.

This workshop demonstrates how web maps can be used to communicate information, support decision-making, and share data with collaborators and public audiences.

By the end of the session, participants will create and share their own interactive web map.

Participants will learn how to:

• Create and manage hosted feature layers in ArcGIS Online
• Build and customize interactive web maps
• Add and edit spatial data directly in a browser
• Configure pop-ups to effectively communicate information
• Incorporate photos, attachments, and descriptive content
• Apply symbology to improve map interpretation
• Add authoritative and open datasets from ArcGIS Online
• Share maps with collaborators, classes, or public audiences

Prerequisites: No prior GIS experience is required. Participants who have attended the earlier workshops will benefit from working with a familiar dataset.
