Holiday Hours for Trent in Peterborough and Durham GTA

Most academic and administrative operations at Trent University in Peterborough and Durham GTA close for winter holiday break at the end of business on Friday, December 20, 2019 and reopen Thursday, January 2, 2020. Please call ahead as individual office hours may vary.

Classes resume at both campuses Monday, January 6, 2020 for the winter semester.

The Trent University Durham GTA campus closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 20 and will re-open with modified hours (7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for Thursday, January 2 and Friday, January 3, 2020 then will be closed January 5 and 6, 2020. Regular hours will resume Monday, January 6, 2020.

Student Residences close at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 and reopen at 9 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020. For more information, please visit the Housing website.  

Risk Management and Security Operations

Peterborough: Campus Security will remain on duty 24/7 throughout the holiday season. All building exterior doors, labs and classrooms will remain locked. Access cards will continue to allow entry to non-residence buildings. Campus Security strongly recommends you advise them, by calling 705-748-1328 or emailing security@trentu.ca, if you must access a campus building during the break. Persons without access cards and/or keys to non-residence buildings will require prior written approval from their department head that clearly specifies time(s) and location(s) of required access. Please contact Campus Security to gain access in this circumstance. 

Durham GTA: There will be no access to campus for students, faculty or staff during the holiday break closure. Security will continue to monitor the building and property.

Bata Library will offer extended hours for exam study through Tuesday, December 17, 2019. On Wednesday, December 18 the Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Thursday, December 19 and Friday, December 20, the Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bata Library will close for the holiday break at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 20 and reopen with reduced hours Thursday, January 2 and Friday, January 3, 2020, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library will be closed January 4 and 5, 2020. Regular hours will resume Monday, January 6, 2020. Please check the Library website for full details.The Athletics Centre at Trent is open throughout the holidays, but will be closed Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Holiday hours begin Tuesday, December 24, 2019, with regular hours resuming Thursday, January 2, 2020. Please check the Athletics Centre website for full details, hours of operation, and schedules.

University and Student Services Holiday Closures

  • Academic Advising – Closed Friday, December 20 at 4 p.m. and re-opens for appointments and drop-in hours Monday, January 6. Please check the website for advising drop-in hours and advisor availability.
  • Academic Skills – Closed Friday, December 20 at 4 p.m. and re-opens for appointments and drop-in hours Monday, January 6. Please refer to the website for drop-in hours and appointment scheduling.
  • Campus Card Office – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 9 a.m.
  • Campus Print & Post – the Printshop and Shipping & Receiving Centre will be closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Campus Tours – closed Friday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Careerspace – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens to regular hours Monday, January 6 at 9:30 a.m.
  • First Peoples House of Learning – closed Friday, December 21 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 9 a.m.
  • Housing Services – closed Wednesday, December 18 at 8 p.m.; reopens Sunday, January 5 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the East and West Bank Service Centers then returns to regular hours Monday, January 6.
  • Human Resources/Payroll – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 8:30 a.m.
  • I.T. Service Desk – closed Friday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Office of the Registrar – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Parking Services – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 8 a.m.
  • School of Graduate Studies – closed Thursday, December 19 at 4 p.m.; reopens Friday, January 3 at 9 a.m.
  • Student Accounts – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Thursday, January 2 at 9 a.m.
  • Student Wellness Accessibility Services – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 6 at 9 a.m.
  • Student Wellness Centre Counselling­– closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 6 at 9 a.m.
  • Student Wellness Health Services – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 6 at 9 a.m.
  • Student Wellness Centre for Academic Testing – closed Friday, December 20 at 12 p.m.; reopens Monday, January 6 at 9 a.m.

Campus Foodservices: Holiday hours of operation can be found on the Chartwells website.

Starbucks in the Student Centre will shift their hours to the following for the holidays:

  • 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019
  • 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019
  • 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019
  • Closed December 21, 2019 through January 5, 2020
  • Reopens Monday, January 6, 2020 with regular hours 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Bus Schedule
West and East Bank express service will be suspended from Thursday, December 18, 2019 until Monday, January 6, 2020. Trent Express service resumes with the weekend schedule on Saturday, January 4, 2020. The full schedule is available online at the Trent Central Student Association website.
