Tianyu “Simon” Jia, fourth-year Business and Media Studies student

Tianyu “Simon” Jia fourth year business and media studies student.

“Trent is one of the most beautiful universities in Canada. I was once on an Air Canada flight, and I was reading TripAdvisor menus. I came across a mention of Trent’s beauty, and I had to see it for myself. I became a believer when I finally got to see Trent the first time. I also appreciate Trent’s diversity. We have an international office, international student associations and countless events each year. We share our culture with others, and learn their cultures at the same time.”

Tianyu “Simon” Jia is a fourth year business and media studies student and one of Trent’s International Global Ambassadors. He was also the 2017 President of the Trent Chinese Student Association. Mr. Jia has helped many international students, and supports them as they adapt and become familiar with Trent in their first year.

In 2019, at the Trent International Students’ Association annual Gala, Mr. Jia was awarded the Paul Longhurst Student Volunteer Award, in recognition for his remarkable contributions to Trent international students.
