Trent University's 2021/22 annual United Way Campaign is officially underway, aiming to raise $150,000 to support the needs of the local communities in Peterborough and throughout the Durham Region.

The Durham United Way campaign supports social inclusion and learning, youth development, homelessness prevention, mental health and wellness, and food security through a diverse network of community services in every neighbourhood.

“It has been a challenging COVID year. You can help us provide significant assistance for those in our community who rely on the vital supports and services provided by the United Way. Please consider contributing to the campaign this year,” states Dr. Scott Henderson, dean and head, Trent University Durham GTA.

With an increasing presence in the region, Trent Durham is committed to supporting the growth of strong and healthy communities throughout the local area. The University is a transformational United Way donor, and this year’s campaign goal reaffirms that there is much still to be done. Trent’s leadership is more important now than ever before as the United Way focuses on response, recovery, and resilience in the wake of COVID-19.

The Trent University United Way Campaign Committee would like to welcome new members Dr. Mark Skinner, dean of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. Peri Ballantyne, professor in the Department of Sociology; as well as Kevin Maina, manager of Community Engagement at Trent University Durham GTA.

Trent Durham employees and retirees can now give to the workplace campaign to support programs that create a circle of care in our community. Giving has never been easier with the new United Way portal, United Way @ Work, customized for the Trent campaign.

Reach out to unitedway@trentu.ca for any campaign or giving questions.
