Trent Idea Exchange Brings International Expertise to Free Interactive Lecture Series
Trent University showcases faculty and visiting experts at community lectures and events as part of 50th Anniversary celebrations
Beginning this fall, Trent University will bring international experts to the community with the Trent Idea Exchange, a series of free public lectures and events that will offer academic perspective on the world’s most crucial and cutting-edge topics.
Offered as part of Trent’s 50th anniversary celebrations throughout the 2014-2015 year and sponsored by the Trent University Faculty Association (TUFA), the Trent Idea Exchange series will cover a diverse range of subject matter, including business, cultural studies, student research, chemistry and the environment.
“TUFA sponsored these talks because they reflect the value that our members place on knowledge, the exchange of ideas, and the intellectual mission of the University,” said Dr. Jocelyn Williams, president of TUFA. “They offer us an ideal opportunity to celebrate 50 years of everyday excellence on the part of faculty and librarians at Trent.”
“With the 50th anniversary taking place this year, it’s an excellent opportunity to showcase the expertise of Trent University’s faculty, and the contributions that we are able to make by bringing this world-class level of intellectual conversation to the community,” said Julie Davis, vice president, external relations & advancement, Trent University. “Trent Idea Exchange aims to encourage our community to take part in the many exciting discussions being offered by academic departments at Trent University.”
