Shannon Featherston is a recent Cultural Studies graduate with a passion for Lady Eaton College.

“I always knew I wanted to be in Cultural Studies because the program is one of a kind in Ontario. It’s a small program and I got to be close with all my professors, which helped me further my own practices because my professors really knew me.”

Ms. Featherston started working in the college office in 2018 and, after falling in love with all things LEC, she joined the college cabinet as the social affairs minister. In her role, Ms. Featherston went to the archives to start researching for the 50th anniversary calendar for LEC but discovered that there was so much history, she teamed up with LEC principal Dr. Christine Freeman-Roth and Traill principal Dr. Michael Eamon to conduct interviews with key members of the college. The information was then made into an exhibition that will be on display in the LEC dining hall for the upcoming school year.

“I wanted to do even more for the college and give back to the college that gave so much to me.”

Shannon Featherston has now graduated and taken her experience to the role of community coordinator for the Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) where she continues to share her love of Trent with students.
