Trent University Durham’s Intramural Soccer Team Takes Second Place
Trent Durham’s intramural soccer team put their skills to the test by hosting a co-ed extramural soccer tournament.
On Friday, January 26, Trent University Durham GTA hosted a Co-ed Extramural Soccer Tournament at the Oshawa Civic Centre.
Competitors representing co-ed intramural soccer teams came out from Centennial College, Humber College North Campus, and Humber College Lakeshore Campus.
The team from Trent Durham played well throughout the entire tournament. Trent Durham made it to the finals and just missed out on the win with a final score of 2-1 with Centennial College taking the trophy home.
Spectators enjoyed a day full of exciting matches, which included some surprising wins and determined athleticism displayed by participants.
“We always encourage students to take a break and pursue a healthy balance of exercise and fun; intramurals are a great way to achieve that,” said Chris Nelan, student life coordinator at Trent Durham.
Getting involved in intramural sports is an easy way to make friends on campus, get some exercise, and have a lot of fun. Soccer is just one of several intramural sports available to students at Trent’s Durham campus. Students of all ability levels are encouraged to come out for basketball, mixed court sports, dodge ball, or volleyball in addition to soccer.
