Dr. Ken Chen is Associate Professor (with Tenure) and Associate Director in the School of Business at the Durham GTA campus. His research, at the intersection of innovation, strategy, and high technology, has been published in leading business journals, including the Journal of Product Innovation Management and Industrial Marketing Management. His current research examines the impact of AI integration on knowledge management and innovation in dynamic markets.
Ken is active in community knowledge mobilization, from developing one of Canada’s first training boot camps for senior entrepreneurs to providing guidance to local businesses through regional publications and CBC Radio appearances.
As an educator, Ken has developed research-informed curriculum innovations, applying his scholarly expertise to create Trent’s first AI innovations in business course, international entrepreneurship course, and sales course. He also led the creation of the Business STRIDE Challenge case competition. He has been nominated multiple times for teaching excellence awards and is a recipient of teaching merit award at Trent.
