Dr. Ryan Sullivan
Eddie Goldenberg Research Chair in Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry; Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Trent School of the Environment, Chemistry, School of the Environment
Ph.D. University of California, San Diego; M.Sc. University of California, San Diego; Hon. B.Sc. University of Toronto
Areas of Expertise:
An environmental chemist and engineer, Dr. Sullivan investigates the effects of atmospheric aerosols and chemical pollutants on climate, clouds, water resources, ecosystems and human health. His interdisciplinary research advances sustainable chemistry and innovative technologies for treating persistent contaminants, including PFAS (forever chemicals), supporting cleaner water systems and climate-resilient environmental solutions. Through his startup company, Sudoc, Dr. Sullivan brings to market novel chemical approaches engineered to destroy persistent micropollutants that contaminate water resources, enabling wastewater reuse.
Dr. Sullivan can comment on chemical regulation and offer insights into the potential impact of the vast array of chemicals used in our homes and daily lives, and offer new perspectives and ideas on how to manage the spread and transformation of contaminants in the environment.
