Trent International Orientation supports international students in your transition to life at Trent University. Before you arrive in Canada and during your first week, we offer additional resources and activities to help you get to know your peers and supporters and settle into your new life in Canada.

Pre-Arrival Online Welcome Sessions
Before you arrive in person in Canada and at Trent, all new international undergraduate and postgraduate certificate students are required to attend two mandatory online Pre-Arrival Welcome Sessions. These sessions are designed for you to ask questions and learn more about:
- Supports and services available for international students
- Academic Advising
- Immigration basics
- Information for exchange students
- International Student Health Insurance
- On-campus and off-campus housing
- Scam and phishing training
Pre-Arrival Online Welcome Sessions take place during the month before your first semester. These sessions take place in April for Summer start students, August for Fall start students, and December for Winter start students.
Fall 2026 start students can now register for their Pre-Arrival Online Welcome Sessions on August 13 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET.

Orientation Week (in-person)
Orientation Week is an action-packed introduction to Trent University, filled with events, activities, and traditions that help you get involved, build community and connection, and feel at home from day one.
Orientation Week takes place in-person at Trent’s Peterborough and Durham GTA campuses during the first week of each semester.
Trent International Airport Shuttle
Trent International provides airport shuttle services from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) for first-year international undergraduate, postgraduate certificate, and exchange students attending Peterborough campus.
Shuttle Schedule
The shuttle for incoming Fall 2026 students will depart from YYZ on September 5, 2026. Students must register by September 1, 2026, to take the shuttle.
To access the registration form, visit the myTrent Portal > Services > Campus Services > 2026 Fall Peterborough Airport Shuttle.
If you are arriving earlier than September 5 and want to join us for airport pick-up, complete the form to request the service and indicate that you will arrive earlier. All students are responsible for paying any additional accommodation and food expenses incurred.
If you are arriving after September 5, you will need to arrange your own transportation. Please review the Other Transportation Options section below to learn more about the recommended options for scheduling private transportation.
Other Transportation Options
If you aren't using the Trent International Airport Shuttle, you must arrange your own transportation to campus. There are many convenient transportation options available from YYZ. It’s important to note that Trent’s Peterborough Campus is about 90 minutes from Pearson Airport in Toronto and our Durham GTA Campus is about 40 minutes away.

Durham students also can travel from YYZ to their accommodation by taxi, shared-ride services, or public transportation.
To ensure you get to campus in a timely manner, we recommend arranging transportation at least one week prior to departure. You will be responsible for paying for independently scheduled transportation.
