A tuition deposit is a pre-payment of fees that is due either in September or January, depending on when you begin classes. Your Tuition deposit is applied as payment toward registration and residence fees and is billed directly to your student account. Your tuition deposit will reduce what is owed at the payment due date.
All students are required to make a tuition deposit before beginning their studies at Trent.

Proof of financial support for study permit applications
International students applying for a study permit in Canada are required to prove that they have enough money, without working in Canada, to pay for all the following:
- tuition fees for the course or program of studies
- living expenses for yourself and the family members who come with you while you’re in Canada
- transportation to and from Canada for yourself and your accompanying family members
While not required, you can choose to deposit the entire amount of your first-year tuition to Trent as proof of financial support. This is a common way to show IRCC that you have the funds available to pay for your education.
