The Trent School of Business and the Dept. of Global Justice and Development are pleased to announce an exciting new summer field course in Mexico as part of their Specialization in Global Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Social Change.
The field course (GDST-ADMN 3030H – Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation) will be hosted by IBERO University in Puebla, Mexico at their state-of-the-art Institute for Technological Innovation and Design (IDIT). IDIT is a world-renowned centre dedicated to the development of technology to address pressing social concerns. It recently hosted the 2024 International Fab Lab Conference on ‘Fabricating Equity’ (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TdB-e3in3w).
A limited number of students who have completed GDST-ADMN 2030 (Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Global South), or have permission of the instructor, will be selected to accompany a Trent-based instructor to Mexico for approximately ten days in late August 2025. This is a great opportunity for students to see first-hand the potential and limitations of social innovation and entrepreneurship in the Global South.
A program fee of approximately $2500 (covering airfare, living expenses and transportation) applies. There is no language requirement.
