"Trent University's reputation as an 'outstanding small university' is a key reason I chose to attend. My third and fourth year classes, some with only 5-10 students, provided unique opportunities for self-directed learning, and quality professor-student mentorship. For me this style of education was crucial to meeting my learning objectives, and now to succeeding in my career of choice. I'm not convinced that this element which makes Trent unique is being valued sufficiently, or safeguarded from the threat of growth and centralization."
