Trent is structured on the college system, which means that every student belongs to a college within the broader university community. And, like each student, each college has its own unique personality, so you’ll want to spend some time deciding which college is likely to be the best fit for you. Here’s what you need to know.
Champlain College
Situated on the west bank of the Otonabee River, Champlain embodies the spirit of adventure and discovery of the famous French explorer for whom it is named. Champlain hosts many wonderful spaces including the Great Hall. Exploration of the world happens at Champlain.
Gzowski College
Named in honour of Peter Gzowski (a much-loved Canadian journalist and broadcaster who was renowned for sparking important conversations about Canada), Gzowski College is all about continuing the dialogue about who we are as Canadians and who we wish to become.
Lady Eaton College
The college has a proud tradition of producing graduates who go on to pursue meaningful careers as writers, artists, performers, diplomats, civil servants, political activists, teachers, and community leaders.
Crawford House - (Traill College)
Located in downtown Peterborough, Catharine Parr Traill is one of Trent’s original colleges and is particularly suitable for students interested in English, Canadian Studies, Cultural Studies, and Media Studies, as well as students seeking closer Peterborough community connections. This close-knit campus community is also home to many graduate students.
