When is move-in for the Winter 2024 term?

After the holiday break, residence reopens on Saturday, January 6, 2024. This is the earliest date that Winter residence students will be able to move in. Specific move in details will be shared after you have confirmed your room booking.

Wondering what would happen if you changed your mind about living in residence?

Students are encouraged to await the publishing of their class schedules to determine if residence fits their needs for the Winter 2024 term, prior to cancelling their residence application.

Should you wish to cancel your residence application go to the student housing portal, click on the Residence Application tab and select “Application Cancellation” from the drop-down menu. Please note that cancelling your application may result in financial liabilities. These are outlined by the $500 deposit refund schedule below and by the Residence Agreement.

What if I decide to defer to the 2024-25 Academic Year?

If you defer to the next academic year, please cancel your application using the guide above. Students who defer from one academic year to the next must reapply when the next year's application opens. The release date for the 2024-25 application will be published on our website when confirmed.

By paying the $500 deposit you acknowledge the following refund schedule.

Winter 2024 residence is not guaranteed and thus students can cancel and receive a full refund of their deposit prior to receiving a room booking. Once a room booking is received, the $500 deposit is non-refundable. As a reminder, room bookings will begin on December 6.

If you choose to withdraw from residence on or after Move-In Day, you will be bound by the withdrawal processes stated in the Residence Agreement.

Should students wish to depart residence once they have arrived, we encourage them to reach out to Student Housing by email at residence@trentu.ca for further information on the withdrawal process.
