Mr. Daniel Palberg is a currently a PhD student in Environmental Life Sciences (ENLS) and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Health Specialization from Trent University. He brings to his board position extensive experience in managing a corporate research portfolio and is currently conducting research in the Emery Lab. Throughout his undergraduate career, Daniel served the Trent community as a responder with the Trent University Emergency First Response Team (TUEFRT).
Daniel has worked in the pharmaceutical and hospital products industry since 2017 gaining experience in quality assurance as a specialist in sustainability. He has been the architect of several projects which have helped organizations comply with national, provincial, and local environmental regulations, while still preserving their financial viability. His role has demanded a high literacy in environmental policy and an ability to communicate concerns to stakeholders while advocating for the implementation of sustainability strategies, programs, and technologies.
Mr. Palberg is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC), the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). In 2021, he was inducted as a model senator by the Senate of Canada for a second consecutive term. Daniel is a three-time recipient of the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and was awarded the prestigious Rise-Professional scholarship funded by the German Office of Academic Exchange (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) in 2021 to conduct research in Germany.
Daniel joined the Trent Board of Governors, occupying the Peterborough student seat for a two-year term that began July 1, 2021.
