Rayna Porter is a recent graduate from the Communications and Critical Thinking program working towards the newly established Communications (Honours B.A.) degree at the Durham GTA campus of Trent University. Rayna has been very involved throughout her time at Trent University Durham GTA, having previously served as the Trent Durham Student Association’s President (2020-2021), VicePresident of University Affairs (2019-2020), and as a Member of the Board of Directors (2018-2019). Additional on-campus initiatives have included: leading an improv troupe, running a women's support group, managing the Trent Student Life Blog, and more. Prior to coming to Trent, Rayna attended Durham College, graduating in 2012 to work for Northumberland Hills Hospital which she continues to this day. Her work at the hospital has spanned from frontline to executive administration where she developed a passion for person-centred practices and governance. Rayna joins the Trent Board of Governors, occupying the Trent Durham GTA student seat, for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2020.
