Ronald Labelle

Artist Profile Ronald Labelle

Born in Montreal, Quebec in 1942, Ronald Labelle attended a Glassblowing workshop taught by Claude Morin.  He also studied glass art in Venice, and later founded and operated the Ateliers du Manoir in the Madalen Islands from 1978-83. Labelle founded Espace Verre, an institution dedicated to glass arts. He was known for taking objects considered ordinary and mundane and recreating them in glass. He passed away in 2024.
