Students apply for this program directly from high school through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre. Application codes for the Peterborough campus are RTA for the Arts Stream, and RTS for the Science Stream. Application codes for the Durham campus are ROQ for the Arts Stream, and ROZ for the Science Stream. Admission is based on applicant’s academic average (a minimum cumulative average of 75% is required on courses considered for admission). Transfer students from other Universities or colleges may also be eligible for consideration.
Transfer students who have completed at least one semester in a recognized Canadian university or college with a cumulative average of 70% will be considered for admission.
Students will follow the admission requirements of their major for specific prerequisite courses.
Trent transfer-in to TES
There is an opportunity to apply to transfer-in to the Teacher Education Stream after completing your first year in another program at Trent. You can apply to transfer-in by completing the “Transfer into a Capped Program” form on the myTrent portal (available from February-May each year). We require a minimum average of 70% across your first year courses and no more than 5.0 credits completed (including transfer credits). If you have more than 5.0 credits complete, your application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
