Oshawa Generals: Community relations and Merchandising Intern
The Oshawa Generals Hockey Club is a member of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Canadian Hockey League. Established in 1937, the Oshawa Generals are an integral part of the Oshawa and Durham Region community. The positive development of hockey players both on and off the ice is our focus, giving the players outstanding facilities and coaches to master their craft while being key members of the community. A winning attitude runs deep within the Generals organization having won 13 OHL Championships and 5 Memorial Cups.
Duties
The Oshawa Generals Hockey Club is seeking a highly motivated student to join our team. This eight-month placement program will expose the successful candidate to first-hand professional experience working with one of the CHL’s most historic franchises.
· Work under the directions of the Manager of Community Relations and Merchandising
· Attend all 34 Oshawa Generals home games which are frequently on evenings, weekends and holidays
· Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
· Motivated, diligent, and detail-oriented, with outstanding customer service skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, and a willingness to learn
· Ability to plan and attend community events with Oshawa Generals players and staff members
· Handle a variety of tasks and work efficiently and effectively during busy periods.

Trent University: Risk Management and Campus Safety Communications Student
Trent University encourages intelligent risk taking when the risk is properly managed. It is the mandate of the Risk Management Department to provide risk management tools, advice and support so that every member of the Trent community who is responsible for a decision, activity or course of action can effectively manage the associated risks.
Duties
We require a review and overhaul of our websites, social media and resources materials. It will be an opportunity to build a new communications program for Trent University Risk Management and Campus Safety, including emergency preparedness and response, TUEFRT, Walkhome, Parking and general personal safety programs. We have two locations, our main department office is located on Symons Campus in Peterborough and our second office is located on our Durham GTA Campus. We can support a student or student(s) at either location. We use and maintain two mobile Campus Safety related applications for communications, Trent U Safety App ( AppArmor Campus Safety App) and Alertus, our mass emergency communication platform. We also have the Trent U EOC Command mobile application for the designate university emergency operations staff. These applications require review and updating, plus a new advertisement and education campaign. We want to launch a new Emergency Preparedness and Response campaign for students and employees. This will include our active violence on campus response of Run, Hide, Fight. There are opportunities for multiple media platforms.
