In support of students pursuing experiential learning The Herman Kassinger Foundation for Experiential Learning Student Award was created. This award provides $250 to successful applicants to help them overcome financial barriers including:
- Accessibility devices
- Childcare costs
- Personal protective equipment
- Travel
- Parking
- Background checks/screening
- Non-academic training or courses required for a placement
- Required clothing or footwear
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for this award, you must:
- Be a current undergraduate student at Trent Durham actively pursuing or completing an experiential learning program or course for academic credit.
- Demonstrate a genuine financial need for accessing or participating in an experiential learning placement or project course.
- If successful, the student must submit a letter of thanks to the Herman Kassinger Foundation.
Application Process:
Complete the Herman Kassinger Foundation for Experiential Learning Student Award Application Form. Please email katewalley@trentu.ca for a copy of the form.
In the form, please write a personal statement (350-750 words) that articulates your financial need and how this award would facilitate your participation in experiential learning.
Gather supporting documents, including an unofficial transcript and an updated resume, to showcase good academic standing.
