The Experience

Leveraging its strategic location in one of Canada's most rapidly aging communities and its interdisciplinary strengths in Sciences and Humanities research, the MA in Interdisciplinary Aging Studies offers students exceptional opportunities to thrive.

  • Trent University envisions to create a vibrant intergenerational community that integrates seniors and university life. This program is the steppingstone in the development of experienced professionals, prepared with valuable insights and practical approaches to aging-related challenges.

  • The program is housed within the Trent Centre for Aging & Society, an internationally renowned academic research centre. As active members of the Centre, students acquire invaluable experience as they engage directly with older adults, researchers and community stakeholders.

  • Expert faculty and innovative programs. TCAS is home to globally recognized experts who conduct state-of-the-art research and initiatives in the field of aging. It also welcomes visiting scholars who bring new perspectives on the experiences of aging.

  • Experiential learning. The MA in Interdisciplinary Aging Studies offers the possibility of gaining hands-on experience through placements, campus fields and internships in the city of Peterborough, one of Canada’s largest aging communities.
